Comments for Stroke Victim Unable to Sit in Wheelchair

Chair for Stoke

Mom had a massive stroke 1 1/2 years ago. She is in a Continuing Care facility now.

The first and best thing I could ever do was to buy her a Geri-type chair. It was from a business furniture store. It is upholstered and will fully recline. Has separate lever for foot rest. Wheels on it and a handle on the back for pushing it. She has to be lifted into it and out of it with a hoist thing.

She can move her right hand and leg, but not control a TV remote control. I can't imagine what life would be like if she was in bed all the time OR having to sit in a wheelchair.

Also bought her a couple of those airplane neck pillows. She really likes it for support. When she gets tired, we can recline it a little for her.
